Neo Music is led by an all-female crew of R&B and Soul lovers who birthed the idea for the UK R&B/Neo-Soul/Jazz scene, to have a home to showcase their talents. Forming life at the beginning of COVID-19 Neo Music started on Instagram writing mini-reviews on past and present releases; and quickly caught the attention of these artists, its peers within the scene. Establishing itself as a publication of music and all things entertainment leading into the broadcasting of R&B/Neo-Soul and Jazz music, the small team of Neo Music being evolving to be a hub for the UK R&B/Neo-soul/Jazz scene and recognised as one of the platforms championingrising talent to not only be seen but heardstarting with, Neo Music Vol. 1
So, below I ask Neo Music some questions to get to know them more.
Tell me about yourself

Walk me through the step-by-step process that you went through to get to where you are today
"We all came from different backgrounds but all music related some of us has and have worked in the music industry behind the scenes for a few years. We came together because of our love for R&B and most especially the scene in the UK that is not Rap/Drill. It has not been an easy journey but it has been fun getting to know artists and managers and producers and everyone else helping to grow this community. We started. In the second lockdown and just started writing reviews for artists' songs as we thought it would be a great way to keep inspiring them to keep going. From then our ideas has just been growing and the business is expanding"
Do you have any specific goals for the rest of this year?
"We have quite a few. Our first is to grow our Youtube Channel more so that means more shows and more collaboration with artists and fans as that is what it is about for us! Then we want to get 2 huge remixes to the songs we release this year. We also want to have our own show on a Radio station and start running our live events which is going to be like no other live event that is out there and start looking into festivals and having smaller stages at them. "
If a kid walked up to asking for your advice and you only had a few minutes to give ‘em your best tip, what would it be?
"The worst thing anyone can say to you is no. Being someone who is quite prideful - which is a characteristic that a lot of humans have but fail to come to terms with. I see this in a lot of creatives - especially when it comes to doing things you’re passionate about. A lot of people fail to realise you can’t do everything by yourself as much as we all think we are superhuman. Asking for help and receiving it does not mean you are not capable. So, never take no as an answer and be as collaborative as you can.if someone else says no or doesn’t get your vision.. there’s going to be someone else out there that does/ says yes! that’s kinda how Neo-Music came about, four passionate girls that share the same vision and drive!"
"If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be and why?"
"If I was a tree I would be a cherry blossom because it is a symbolic flower for the beginning of spring, one of my favourite seasons! You always know when you see the petals on the floor that the sun is on its way! When I walk past a cherry blossom I always stop to admire how beautiful they are. The blush pink always stands out no matter how far away you are from it, not to forget pink is one of my favourite colours. Simple, pretty & pink sums me right up! "
